Instructions for New Accounts using MC mini-POS

MC mini-POS is a real-time POS / On-line Sales Report System. Your sales at checkout are available immediately on the Sales Report your dealers will use to see their sales. No uploading is required.

Depending how you operate your store you may want to bookmark the MC mini-POS with or without the Store Password.

NOTE: URL is ...omp_pos.cgi...

When you first log-in you may see sales made from earlier in the day. That is because the Invoice Number field is blank (see below).

You can use this from a Tablet or a Desktop, Mac or PC, and from multiple cashier stations. Obviously, you should have a printer.

GETTING STARTED

We created a dummy account to help write these instructions. Feel free to use this account to learn MC mini-POS. The log-in is "eliana" and "4321".

This is a bare-bones POS for stores operated like malls such as antique malls, crafter's malls, consignment stores, etc. It provides an electronic replacement for your paper receipt tablet and pen. It can print receipts and it is recommended that you print two copies. Keep one for the store.

It keeps track of Booth Rent and Commissions which normal POS systems, such as Square, do not. It prints out your Dealer Statements using the PayCheck Utility at the bottom.

To make your first sale you click on the NEW SALE button. This will generate the first Invoice Number and create the first transaction (aka Line). You now need to Update the newly created transaction (Line) with the actual sale such as Dealer ID, Description, QTY, and Price.

Ticket is the tagged price, Sold is the actual selling price. If you leave one of these blank it will automatically be filled in with the value of the other meaning the item was sold at full price.

If there is another item to be sold to the same customer you can ADD LINE without changing the Invoice Number.

If you want a new Invoice Number for the next customer then click on NEW SALE and repeat.

NEW SALE will generate the next numerical value for the Invoice Number. Mixing alpha characters with Invoice numbers will goof up the next Invoice Number but you can still change it to whatever suits your situation, MC mini-POS may not be able to generate the next new Invoice Number reliably.


PRINTING RECEIPTS

Dealer Accounts and Back-ups wont be created unless you Print Recipt. Clicking on this link will pop up another window and create a Back-up and new Dealer Accounts as needed. The actual physical printing is not necessary for the backup and creation of new Dealer Accounts to function. Close this window when done. (tested on Windows 7 & Chrome)


MODIFYING A SALE

Enter the Date and the Invoice Number and click on GET OLD SALES. If you do not remember the invoice number then leave it blank and click on GET OLD SALES. If you dont remember the date then replace date with "ALL" (or "all").

SEARCHING

Valid searches using GET OLD SALES:

10/27/2017 and Invoice 3 - displays all line items with that date and that Invoice Number
10/27/2017 and Invoice blank - displays all line items with that date
all and Invoice 3 - displays all line items with that Invoice Number regardless of date
all and Invoice blank - displays your complete data file

You need to display the transaction you want to modify. Click on the Line # button on the left side. This will bring the Line up to the place where you can UPDATE LINE and the transactions associated with that date and that Invoice Number will be displayed below it but will update accordingly if you change the Date and/or the Invoice Number.


OPTIONS

Various options are set at your Store Page. Click on the Store Page link at the bottom of your MC mini-POS.

Sign-in using $FORM{'dsc'} and 4321 (or your current password)

Scroll down to the blue STORE INFORMATION section and keep scrolling till you get to Advanced Options Section.

Look for #12 - MC mini-POS OPTIONS

This is where you can set the following. Each time after you make changes you must click on UPDATE STORE INFO button to make the options stick.

Sales Tax

Sales Receipt Note

Dealer Statement Note

Look for #6 to set the Global Commission


DEALER ACCOUNTS

This is where you go to set the Booth or Cabinet or Wall Space rent and Commissions for each dealer. If a dealer has multiple spaces with different rents and different commissions then a different Dealer ID needs to be set up.

MC mini-POS will create Dealer Accounts as needed when the receipt is printed. You can also create Dealer Accounts manually from the Green Section.

Creating a Dealer Account does two things: It allows immediate dealer access to their on-line Sales Report and 2) this is where you set the rents and commissions.

When creating a new Dealer Account the temporary password is automatically assigned. You can change it or you can specify a different default temporay password in Advanced Options #10

Account Expires date is unimportant until this Feature is turned on.

Internal Client ID is only important if you know what it is. (Inventory stuff)

Click ADD/UPDATE INFO to save. It's that easy to create Dealer Accounts manually.

But to set Rents and Commissions you need to fill out fields 15 and 18.

When MC mini-POS creates a new Dealer Account it does not fill in Rents and Commissions.


PRICING

MC mini-POS adds another \$5.00 per month to the regular Mall-Central.com rates.

Credit Card processing requires a separate Credit Card Merchant Account not available from us.

Your account has been set-up for $STORE{'maxdealers'} dealers. The cost is \$$STORE{'acctrate'} per month plus a one-time \$$STORE{'setupdue'} set-up fee. The account can be adjusted at anytime so if your needs change (ie number of $Dealerdescs) be sure to contact us at your earliest convenience.

Most malls charge a nominal fee (ie \$1 to \$5 per month) to their dealers to help cover the cost of this and related services.

We do not accept payment for our services until you are happy with it and decide to keep it.
